ode to an eggo

You've probably heard me talk about my love for eggos before. I've averaged ~1.2 eggos daily for the past couple decades, and intend to continue doing so for the remainder of my life. I just finished two, with peanut butter and honey, and realized what a tragedy it would be if I never formally proclaimed my love for eggos:

condiments spread neatly, into crisp squares
eggo, eggo, eggo, your beauty is clear to me
while your simple shape and flavor
causes the snooty food lovers to flee

cooked just right in a toaster
god's intended way to prepare
i'd even consider taking a bite
if you were contaminated with hair

the blandness of your essence
makes dressing you up a joy
adding sauces and different textures
providing fuel for my next ploy

i could live solely on eggos
but that really wouldn't be right
i guess i'll merely enjoy you
morning, noon, and night

My favorite recipes:
  1. With jam (apricot is best but any works)
  2. With peanut butter and jam
  3. With peanut butter and honey
  4. With honey
  5. With fruit (berries mainly) and syrup
  6. With syrup
  7. With chocolate chips (eaten sparingly)
  8. With fried chicken (good, too much work for everyday)
  9. Plain (ideal for highly mobile eating)
I switch off between buttermilk and homestyle, I don't like the embedded berry ones, but the embedded chocolate chip ones can be good on occasion. Eggo pancakes often come out soggy, and the trough shape in mini eggos is all wrong for capturing the condiments.
